Simple Truth
Because He so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, so that whoever believes in Him will not perish , but have eternal life ... He loves you too - whoever you may be, whatever is happening in your life. He wants to be your Father. He longs for you to really know Him for yourself. He has so much He wants to give you.
Being a "good" person is not "knowing" Him. When you really know Him, "good" takes on a whole new meaning. He is coming back to take His children to live with Him forever. Those who have refused Him, when they stand before Him to give account of their lives, will not have any defence and the penalty for sin is death. Sound harsh? Not really. How many miracles, personal witnesses, books, tracts, missionaries, commercials, TV shows, preachers, evangelists and web pages do you think are enough? How many opportunities do you think you should have? Gee, just like now - what's keeping you from Him right now?
Prayer
Prayer is just talking with God. Let's talk to Him NOW.
Father, I confess that I have not known you. I believe that Your son, Jesus Christ died as the sacrifice for my sins and rose from the dead to purchase my salvation. I accept Christ as my personal saviour and thank you, Father, that you have made it possible for me to have a personal relationship with you as your child. Lord, I ask You to bring truth into my life and guide me, guard me and keep me close to You.
Now what?
Being born again is a decision to know God and maintain a personal relationship with Him. It's very easy to get to know Him. He's promised to be with you always, so act on your decision to keep a personal relationship with Him.
Pray - talk with Him about everything. He loves you, and everything that matters to you, really matters to Him. He will answer you.
Listen to God by reading the Bible. This is not just another book. The words have life and will help you get to know Him. Find out what he promises to you, and let Him bless you with wisdom and knowledge that will change your life.
Spend time with others who know Him personally. Don't just assume that going through the motions of "church" will bring you closer to Him. Find other believers who really know Him and who will encourage and instruct you. By prayer and reading His word you will learn to recognise your brothers and sisters.
Help others to know God personally. As your Father, He will instruct you and discipline you in ways that will make your life meaningful, productive and enable you to bless those around you. As you grow closer to Him, you will find out for yourself that He is the God of doing and being, life to the fullest measure.
